The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the American Association of Family Physicians (AAFP) recommend that women provide breast milk exclusively for the first 6 months of life and to continue breastfeeding for the first year of life. Women are now for the first time in history combining work out side the home with continued long term breastfeeding. This has had an impact on the work place environment and culture.
