Heather Collie Chase

Heather received her Bachelors of Nursing from Seattle University in 1983 (magna cum laude). Ms Chase received a Masters in Community Health in 1989 from San Jose State University (magna cum laude). Ms Chase became an IBCLC in 1995. She founded the work-life company in 1996 with the mission to assist corporations in helping their employees combine both a fulfilling career while simultaneously providing their babies with the best possible nutrition for as long as possible. Ms. Chase has since designed implemented and operated turnkey lactation services for organizations of all sizes. Ms. Chase resides in Chester, Vermont with her husband and four children.
Margaret has worked as a Maternal-Child Health nurse since graduating with her bachelor’s degree (summa cum laude) in 1991. She spent 3 years educating and assessing mothers and newborns in their first 3-6 months as a visiting nurse (part of the Healthy Babies Program) and also worked as a postpartum nurse, educating moms on newborn care and providing breastfeeding assistance during the hospital stay. In 1994, she became a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator and has since taught the philosophy to hundreds of expectant couples, and in 1999 she became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. That same year, and at the request of the Birthing Center Director, Margaret initiated a Lactation Program at Central Vermont Medical Center. In the capacity of Program Coordinator, Margaret conducted prenatal breastfeeding classes and visited all newly delivered mothers in the hospital, 85 – 90% of whom were successfully breastfeeding. She also ran a breastfeeding clinic for all mothers in the community providing guidance and support. Margaret is the mother of three and the grandmother of three – all happily breastfed babies.

Cate has a Masters degree from the University of Pennsylvania and is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. With a focus on education, Cate has held several positions over the years as a Perinatal Clinical Nurse Specialist and hospital based Lactation Consultant. In addition, Cate also has experience as a Nursing Instructor on the college level helping to prepare our next generation of Lactation Consultants! Not to mention, Cate has worked for Corporate Lactation Services for the past 10 years.

Ms. La Barge has spent a lifetime in healthcare since graduating from the Montreal General Hospital School of Nursing. She has held a variety of positions in Psychiatric Nursing, Hospice, Strategic Planning for Rural Health, Health Care Policy and Lactation. Ms. La Barges’s degrees in addition to Nursing are a BA in Psychology and an MBA in Organizational Management. She received her certification from the International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants in 2002 and was recertified in 2007. Ms. La Barge’s work in the field of Lactation began in 1998 with Corporation Lactation Services. In addition she has worked as a Lactation Consultant for Yavapai County Community Health Services writing funded grants, establishing peer counseling programs and educating Maternal and Child Heath, and WIC staff. She resides in Prescott, Arizona with her husband and has three adult children.
Jenny Bowen is a registered nurse, and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). She has been a Registered Nurse for 23 years and has enjoyed her work in the Newborn Intensive Care for 21 years at Phoenix Children's Hospital as a nurse and a Lactation Consultant. She has been an IBCLC for 15 years. Jenny is also a Certified Infant Massage Instructor. She has been married for 19 years and has 2 daughters.

Rhonda received her Associates in Nursing degree in 1993 from South Georgia College and her BSN from Kaplan University in 2010. She has been working with women and children for over 17 years first as a pediatric unit nurse and then as a maternal child home health nurse. She became a lactation counselor in 2002 and an IBCLC in 2008. Rhonda is currently completing her Masters Degree in Nursing and is scheduled to graduate in the summer of 2012. She lives in Morrisville, Vermont with her husband and 2 cats. Her children have left the nest and have started making families of their own which has given Rhonda two beautiful grandchildren.
Kate has over 35 years of experience in the Maternal-Child health field. She has an Associates of Nursing (1970) from Atlantic Union College and a Bachelors of Nursing (2000) from the University of New Hamphsire. Kate has a passion for providing support for breastfeeding and holds a certificate as a Board Certified Lactation Consultant since 1994. Kate has worked as a labor and delivery nurse, post-partum nurse, nursery nurse and pediatric nurse. She has been a Certified Childbirth Educator and worked 3 years as a home health nurse with the Vermont Healthy Babies program. During her 12 years as a Nurse Manager she developed training programs for nurses to increase their skills for supporting breastfeeding and she worked with the local Maternal Child Coalition to develop a Peer Counseling Program. Kate also started a return Lactation Clinic at Springfield Hospital in Springfield, VT. Kate has 2 grown sons, each breastfed for over a year, and resides with her husband of 39 years in Springfield, VT.
